This policy explains what information ProseWeave (“we”, “us”) collects when you use our website at proseweave.com or any of our mobile apps, why we collect it, and what choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email hello@proseweave.com and we'll explain it in plain terms.
The short version
- We don't sell your personal information, and we never have.
- We collect the minimum an app needs in order to work.
- Data you create in our apps stays on your device unless a feature you turn on requires otherwise.
- You can ask us to delete anything we hold about you.
Information we collect
Information you give us. If you email us or use the contact form on this site, we receive your name, your email address, and whatever you write to us. We keep that correspondence so we can answer follow-up questions, and we delete it when it's no longer needed.
Information our apps collect. Content you create in our apps — notes, settings, and similar — is stored locally on your device by default. Where an app offers a feature that needs a server (such as sync, backup, or an account), the app tells you before that feature is switched on, and this policy is updated to describe it.
Diagnostics. Apple and Google may share crash reports and aggregate usage statistics with us through App Store Connect and the Google Play Console. These are provided in aggregate or pseudonymised form and are governed by the platform's own privacy settings, which you control in your device settings.
This website. The site is static and sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested page, user agent) for security and troubleshooting.
How we use information
- To provide the features of our apps and this website.
- To answer your support questions and correspondence.
- To diagnose crashes and fix bugs.
- To meet legal obligations where they apply to us.
We do not use your information for advertising profiling, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
Children
Our apps are not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of third parties to operate: our website host, our email provider, and the Apple and Google app platforms. They process information only as needed to provide their service to us.
Data retention
We keep support correspondence for as long as it's useful for supporting you, and then delete it. Server logs are rotated on our host's standard schedule. Data stored locally on your device is removed when you delete the app or clear its data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR in the UK and EU, and the CCPA in California — you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Email hello@proseweave.com and we will respond within the period the applicable law requires (and in any case as quickly as we can).
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect information in our care, including encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, so we also limit what we collect in the first place.
International transfers
We operate from [country], and our service providers may process information in other countries. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers have in place for international transfers.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page, and for material changes we'll note the change in the affected app's release notes.
